Worked 14 years with Olin Corporation in engineering and operations. Spent 27 years with Air Products & Chemicals as Plant / Site Manager, Corporate Safety & Environmental Director, and Manufacturing Director. Currently principal and owner of MW Ferris Group LLC and Sr. VP of The SRI Group.

Work History:

Senior scientist in a large pharmaceutical company in the areas of infectious diseases, molecular biology and molecular genetics. Indepth experience with a wide range of molecular biological and molecular genetics techniques and instrumentation that supported research in therapeutic areas such as oncology, viral and bacterial diseases, and asthma.  By leading and participating in international project teams, have developed strong communications and teamwork skills leading to successful outcomes in culturally diverse situations.

Work History:

Research Chemist at Chevron, Syntex, Elan Pharmaceuticals.  Implemented and managed RCRA, OSHA, Hazmat waste policies; improved working conditions and safety inspections at each of these companies.

Post doctoral work in Ayurveda from the Ayurveda Institute, NM.  Ph.D, MS, BS in Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College of Holistic Health.  BA Chemistry, graduate work in Advanced Organic Chemistry, Teaching Certificate from San Francisco State University.

Work History:

Worked in consulting engineering the majority of career.  Consulted with industries, municipalities and government on variety of projects.  Spent time as an environmental health and safety manager for a small chemical company.  Areas of expertise include pollution prevention, industrial and municipal water and wastewater treatment processes and air pollution control technology.

Served as a process engineer with an oil refining company and as regional sales manager for a water treatment company in the Caribbean, Central and South America.  Also served as a management, marketing, and engineering consultant, evaluating operations and processes.

Work History:

Consulting engineer experienced with municipal and industrial wastewater treatment systems; hazardous waste treatment storage and disposal permitting; facility environmental health and safety compliance; and, contaminated groundwater collection and treatment systems. Has 19 years of experience in recycling and solid waste management programs. Worked with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division on recycling program implementation and illegal dump prevention projects. Previously worked in the State of Georgia Purchasing Office where she implemented the state's Environmental Purchasing Program. Also worked as a Promotions Manager and Operations Assistant with the University of Colorado Recycling Services.

Engineering work for large and small engineering firms, state regulatory agencies, local government, and industry. Experience includes planning, permitting, operations and design work in air pollution control, wastewater treatment, hazardous waste management.

Work History:

Experience as an architect with several firms, over 25 years in private practice in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Energy Manager with NC Energy Office Federal Grant to identify energy savings measures at 11 community colleges in Western North Carolina.  Account Manager Associate with ICF to encourage demand-side management energy saving for commercial and industrial utility customers.
