Waste Reduction Partners is uniquely staffed with retired engineers, scientists, and staff who share their expertise with businesses and communities across North Carolina. As a multidisciplinary team of mechanical, electrical, civil, environmental, and chemical engineers, scientists, and architects, they have had distinguished careers in a variety of industries, such as automotive, food, textile, utility, chemical, paper, construction, aerospace, electronics, and government. This remarkable group has more than 2,200 years of cumulative experience.

Lynn Bestul was involved in energy conservation and quality improvement at Florida Power and Light.  He also took part in residential and commercial generation studies, recycling education and program development and special even recycling design at the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County, Fl.  Managed recycling collection and processing operation, coordinated special waste collection programs and promoted recycling through education and presentations.

With over 36 years of experience in the hazardous waste industry, Kenn has built a career in transforming environmental challenges into practical solutions. His experience spans the management of permitted facilities across North Carolina, including Reidsville and Greensboro, as well as operations in New Jersey, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Virginia, and Georgia.
For the last seven years, Kenn served as the Director of Solid Waste for Transylvania County, North Carolina, where he oversaw the county’s recycling program and managed its Subtitle D Landfill. Known for blending hands-on expertise with a steady leadership style, Kenn continues to shape safer, more sustainable waste management practices across the region.

Education:

Kenn holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from North Carolina State University, where his early studies in the natural sciences laid the foundation for his career in environmental management.
